For Businesses

Shop in Solidarity invites immigrant-owned businesses across the Twin Cities to take part in neighbor-led shopping days organized within individual neighborhoods.

This community effort is designed to support local markets, grocers, boutiques, and other specialty retail shops that have experienced reduced foot traffic or temporary disruptions in recent weeks. Our goal is simple: encourage neighbors to shop locally and show up for the businesses that keep our neighborhoods vibrant.

How it works

Each neighborhood organizes its own Shop in Solidarity day (or days) and selects dates that work best for local businesses and residents of their neighborhood. The first of these events will take place in the Summit-University and Summit-Hill areas of Saint Paul on Saturday, February 28 and Saturday, March 7.

On participating days, neighbors will be encouraged to visit participating stores to purchase everyday staples or discover something new. Stores are welcome to highlight special products, feature a demonstration, or offer a small promotion, but this is optional (nothing extra is required to participate).

There is no fee to participate and no obligation, just neighbors shopping in support and solidarity.
